Josh and Tanya's Crossfit Level 1 Certification Underway!
We got to meet the man himself, Crossfit Coach, Greg Glassman. What a cool dude. Thanks coach for all of your hard work and dedication to getting crossfit to where it is today.
The day consisted of lectures and practicing the 9 basic crossfit moves:
Squat, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, Deadlift, Sumo DL High Pull, Medball Clean (What a humbling realization on technique that needs work!)
After practicing the 3 squat lessons yes we had our first ass beating of the day "bottom to bottom tabata squats" What is your lowest Rep? Guess what we are doing for our next warm-up at APEX!!
Following all of the lectures at around 4:00pm we continued with our second ass beating of the day a modified "Fight Gone Bad" named "Beltway Gone Bad" same set up just modified the wallball to a med ball thruster and used a kettlebell for the SDLHP. Talk about wanting to DIE! Tanya finished with a high score among all women at Alexandria. Good work Tan!
Unfortunately we were not able to snap any pics or get a pic with Coach however, hopefully you can in-vision the fun we had on our first day. Second round starts in almost 12 hours better get some rest for who knows whats in the bag of tricks for tomorrow.
Also great to see a familiar face Steve Rakow from CF OCMD as one of our trainers this weekend.
