A Scare Today

Tanya was taking on the "manmakers" WOD and decided to use a 30" plyometric box (what was she thinking). She did a wonderful job through her first 2 rounds of 21 reps and 15 reps however, as fatigue began to set in she didn't quite hit her 4th jump on her last set of 9 reps. She successfully got her right foot onto the box but the left ankle connected with a solid impact of flesh and bone into a metal frame. Her leg then slid down the top of the box leaving an instant 12" bright redish blue bruise down her tibia. She attempted to continue when realizing that the finishing of the WOD was not going to happen. Unfortunately, there always comes a WOD from time to time that you can not finish. Today was Tanya's day. After 15-20 min she was not able to walk on her leg so our Skiing paramedic, Kim, proceeded to splint Tanya's leg so she could drive to the hospital. We sat in the ER for 3 hours to find out that nothing was broken!! RICE was the suggestion of treatment for her bruise. NO WOD for Tanya tomorrow (unless it is a 5k) but she will be back on her feet soon. That is better news than walking around in a cast. The scare turned out to be a minor CrossFit accident. Thanks for the help this morning.

Ouch, ouch, ouch! It hurt just reading what happened. Glad to hear it's not serious. I'm sure it still hurts like a bugger.
