Let's Talk FOOD- Nutrition/Zone Diet Presentation

What is this Zone diet anyway?
Whether you are interested in losing, gaining, or maintaining weight, cleaning up your diet, becoming a follower of Dr. Barry Sears Zone Diet, like so many other CrossFitters, or hearing about some cool new food for thought, literally, come learn more about nutrition and how your eating habits effect you throughout the day and during your workout.

What: Nutrition Class/Zone Presentation presented by Tanya- Included in the class will be lecture, Q&A/discussion, meal planning, food prep demonstration and of course food sampling!
When: Session 1: Saturday, April 11th 10:00ish (after the 7:30 class and 1 year Apex anniversary shin dig!)
Session 2 (follow up session): Saturday, May 2nd 9:30ish (after the 7:30 class)

*sessions will run about an hour to an hour and a half in length
Where: The Garage
What to bring: Notebook, pen/pencil, food log of everything you eat and drink for a full day (I would love for you to bring at least 3 days worth if you can), questions, and $10 (per session)

Hey Tan- is the session 1/session 2 thing to provide the option of two different dates? Or is it intended to be a 2-part class?
Great question! It is intended to be a 2-part class. First session is gathering info and trying to see what plan will work best for you. Session 2 will be more of a follow up and regroup about what has come up and what struggles/challenges and successes people are having. I'm hoping session 2 will be even more detailed specifically to you guys. I will be able to address questions that come up during the 3 week "trial period" between the two session. You can share experiences and issues. Session 2 is not a mandatory session but I feel like that will be an even greater help to get more specific questions answered about your personal diet and efforts with the Zone or clean up meals.
I'm in:) Can't wait to learn some more from my lovely wife.N ot like I listen to this every single day of my life. Scales, knives, cutting boards and plastic tupperware all over the kitchen on a regular basis. Maybe you guys can hire her to come into your house and cook on a weekly basis. Or maybe we could turn Apex into a Meals on Wheels as well as a fitness program. Whatchu think?
Will their be friendship bread served at this event.....you know....to demonstrate something we shouldn't be eating?

The friendship bread is a good example for a cheat day.

If Molly is even bringing up Friendship Bread than I guess I better add a few things to our menu! So excited about all the positive responses!
...careful Eida this Friendship Bread might be made with some extra special protein ingredients...wink wink :)

This is perfect timing. I was just talking about how I need to get a better understanding of what I'm ingesting...
I am planning to be at teh workout Saturday morning, but I don't think I'll be able to stay for session 1. Session 2 is a hopeful possibility. otherwise, maybe i can get notes. j
