ALL CF ENDURANCE ATHLETES MUST BRING A CHRONOGRAPH TO CLASS (watch, stopwatch, iphone)

We are extremely excited to kick off Apex’s very first Crossfit Endurance session!! This will be a five week cycle beginning October 11th consisting of two days per week which will work as a supplement to regular Crossfit training and not in lieu of (the two workouts just need to be 3 hours apart). Classes will run on Thursdays at 6 am and Sundays at 12 pm. The session will include an individual gait analysis, running drills to improve technique, mobility geared to enhance performance and running Endurance WODs (intervals, tempo runs, tabata, on the minute, and time trials). Traditional endurance training has always put an emphasis on volume calling for high miles with little to no focus on intensity and technique.  This old school protocol leads to many types of injuries, over training  and a plateau in performance. It’s like trying to improve your snatch by repeating it 500 times at low intensity with zero regard to form. With the CFE training method, standard Crossfit principles are applied by putting technique first, intensity second, and volume last.  This provides a safer and more effective way to substantially increase speed, power, vo2 max, and lactate threshold. It’s also a lot more fun!


Example of a Crossfit Endurance class:

Warm up and mobility….5-20 minutes (dependent of the length of the WOD, the shorter the WOD the longer the warm up)

Skill and drill work….5-20 minutes

Endurance WOD….5-30 minutes

Cool down and mobility….5-10 minutes


In addition, we can also address and answer any questions you may have on running shoes, racing, endurance nutrition and hydration, etc.
